Yuba Sutter Arts and Culture used the “Cover It!” A Utility Box Mini-Mural Project as part of its arts everywhere initiative. The “Cover It!” program is designed to support art in public places and to enhance neighborhoods through the creation of these mini-murals. With the tremendous artistic talent in Yuba-Sutter, there has been no shortage of great ideas for mini-mural subjects ranging from local Native American heritage and history, our agricultural leadership, our Veteran community, our cultural diversity, the natural beauty of Yuba-Sutter, and so much more.
The “Cover It!” Utility Box Mural Project has enhanced the aesthetics of Yuba-Sutter, promoted civic pride, increased pedestrian traffic, and extended public art to new areas and unexpected places while creating an attractive environment and allowing art to be introduced to the public in a creative and inventive way. The program goal is to bring beauty to unexpected places such as utility boxes and other public infrastructure.
