Rajkamal Kahlon’s “And Still I Rise” Gallery Show
October 28 at 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
YSAC is pleased to present, And Still I Rise in collaboration with University Galleries, Sacramento State. Originally from the Yuba-Sutter area, Raj is now based in Berlin, Germany. Working with archival materials sourced from books, military reports, and photographs, her interdisciplinary practice transforms colonial narratives through painting. Her work “talks back” to these archival documents and “points us towards spaces of potentiality and freedom.”
The exhibition features prints from her new series, Enter My Burning House, memorializing victims of the 2012 shooting at the Sikh gurdwara in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
Exhibition open Tuesday from 4-6pm & Wednesday-Friday from 11am-4pm
at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts Theater Gallery on Plumas Street in Yuba City.
