Shen Yun Performing Arts, is an entertainment company based in New York. It performs classical Chinese dance, ethnic and folk dance, and story-based dance.

5pm – 6pm Performance by Jumping Buddha, Classical Chinese Music Ensemble
The Jumping Buddha Ensemble was formed in 1997 by a group of outstanding professional musicians specializing in the traditional music of China. The Ensemble offers Chinese music demonstrations, from traditional to contemporary composition; from ensemble to instrumental solo, and uses Chinese traditional music instruments to perform adapted Western music.

Viewing of submissions for the new Bok Kai mural in Marysville and unveiling of the winner. Meet the Artist, Ronald Slater.

11am – 1pm Dim Sum Brunch
Catered by Rice Bowl Restaurant in Sacramento ($20 per person. Limited to the first 30 registered and paid guests.

Presentation. Also, a screening of Huell Howser’s “California’s Gold” TV program featuring the Bok Kai Parade and the gold fields.

2pm – 4pm Chinese Builders of Gold Mountain
World Premiere screening of the film plus a second feature about the Chinese’ involvement in the building of the railroads. Documentary about the Chinese experience working in the gold mines including historic footage of Marysville by filmmaker Bill George will be shown during the Bok Kai festival in Marysville prior to its screening on KVIE, Sacramento Channel 6, in April.
