An event every week that begins at 12:00pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until June 30, 2017
June brings multi-talented ROSARIO CLERICI-GREEN to The Theater Gallery in Yuba City. Her exhibit features dynamic acrylic paintings and interactive mixed media sculptures. Joining her are resident artists Luisa Leger, D.Ellen Day, Paul Spoto, Rosalynd Bliss, and Janet Todd. The art show/sale runs from June 1 through June 30. Don’t miss the Artist Reception at the gallery on Thursday, June 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The event is free, offering complimentary refreshments. Located at 756 Plumas Street in downtown Yuba City next to the Sutter Theater, the gallery’s hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00 to 5:00 pm during the exhibit.
After earning college degrees from Chico State University and Concordia University in Portland, ROSARIO CLERICI-GREEN began dabbling in art. A self-taught artist since 2001, Rosario considers herself a “life long student” not only in art, but also in her work with nonprofit organizations, such as the “Centered Learning Academy” which she founded several years ago. In her view, “thoughts become things” as a person strives for self-realization and empowerment. Creating art is a perfect example of this, because it requires you to be “right there in that moment.” Her artwork is both dynamic and versatile. She feels that art should be about choices where the viewer becomes engaged, wanting to have a closer look and interact with it. For her, a yearly trip to the coast of El Salvador inspires her to create soothing, relaxing sculptures influenced by the sea and marine life. Hers will be a stunning show that will tickle your fancy and engage your curiosity!
The Theater Gallery is open every week, Wednesday through Saturday, from noon to 5:00 p.m. Come in and enter the drawing to win a jewelry piece each month. An Artist Reception is held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month, complete with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds from The Theater Gallery benefit the Sutter Performing Arts Association’s effort to renovate the Sutter Theater, turning it into a viable community center.
