Third Annual Harvest the Arts: It’s the Berries!
Join Us for an Evening of Sweets and Other Treats at the Historic Heier Farm
On Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Yuba Sutter Arts (YSA) will present its annual Harvest the Arts event at J. Heier Farms located at 4880 East Butte Road in Live Oak.
Harvest the Arts brings together local farmers, artists, wineries, corporate sponsors and the entire community to raise funds for Arts Council programs such as Art Harvest where plein air artists are invited to farms and ranches to sketch, paint or photograph. Yuba Sutter Arts also offers arts education for young people including its Every Child Can program that helps bring music education back into local elementary schools.
The spectacular setting for this year’s event is the beautiful and historic J. Heier Farms, established in 1886, just south of the Sutter Buttes. As the guests of the Heier family, we’ll have the opportunity to experience first-hand the agricultural process and learn more about the many delicious foods grown in the Yuba-Sutter area like Heier berries, nuts and fruits. This is the ultimate “farm to fork” and “vine to glass” experience on a very local basis so join us and take pleasure in the tastes and aromas of a variety of “small bite” dishes prepared using only locally grown foods.
This year’s entertainment lineup includes local Americana musical groups the South Sac Jooks and the OCD Band among other musicians, actors and poets. Local artists and craftsmen will be displaying their work and discussing their artistic process with guests.
Ticket prices are $20 for Yuba Sutter Arts members and $25 for non-members.
Sponsorships and donations for this and other Yuba Sutter Arts events are welcome and encouraged. Contact Yuba Sutter Arts at (530) 742-ARTS or email@example.com for more information and to order tickets.
