Book Discussion: “So You Want to Talk About Race”
by Ijeoma Oluo

April 18, 2021 at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Yuba-Sutter Race Dialogues warmly invites you to join an evening discussion group on So you Want to Talk about Race, by Ijeoma Oluo. These discussions will be held on Zoom the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 7:00 pm and will begin mid-February. There is much interest in such dialogue, so if you wish to reserve a place, please contact Susan Allen at atomsheart9@gmail.com. This discussion group may resemble other book discussion groups that we are all familiar with, but the distinction here are our goals:
- Promote a deeper understanding of the current anti-black racial situation in the United States
- Promote a deeper investigation of what each of us can do about it
- Explore together how to talk about race both with those of our own race and those not, gradually overcoming discomfort
- Practice together facilitation skills to continue this process with others
