The Yuba-Sutter Holiday Arts Faire offers fine art, handcrafted items, and other gifts created by local artists and artisans. A sample of items that will be on display include:

  • Jewelry
  • Greetings cards
  • Ornaments
  • and more!

This event is free and open to the public, with hot refreshments provided by the Women’s Creative Circle, a program of the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council. Come explore the many fine gifts that Yuba-Sutter has to offer!

Impressions: Plein Air Paintings by Mary Ann Nation

September 30th – November 15th, 2011

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 8th, 5pm – 8pm
The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council is proud to present an exhibition of plein air paintings by Mary Ann Nation. Painted in an Impressionist style, these landscapes transport you to the Mendocino coast, the wilderness within the Sutter Buttes, and other various locations in Northern California.

Please join us for our Opening Reception on Saturday, October 8th at 5pm. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Yuba College Student Art Show

December 1st – 12th, 2011

Opening Reception:
Thursday, December 1st, 5 – 7pm

The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council is proud to present the Fall 2011 Yuba College Student Art Show in our gallery. It will be on display from December 1st through December 10th, 2011. The Art Department features work from all students enrolled in Studio Art classes at Yuba College, which includes: Drawing, Basic Design, Watercolor, Painting, Sculpture and Ceramics.

The opening reception honoring these students will take place on Thursday, December 1st, from 5 p.m until 7 p.m. Please join us in celebrating this exciting event with our Yuba College art students and faculty. We would love to see you there! Refreshments will be served.

Exploring Minerva

December 21st, 2011 – January 21st, 2012

Artist’s Reception: Friday, January 6th, 6pm – 8pm
Documenting and stretching her inner soul, Minerva Gama captures dreams and thoughts with her camera lens in this multimedia exhibition of photography and sculpture at the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council Gallery.

Please join us at the Artist’s Reception for Exploring Minerva on Friday, January 6th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and the artist will be present. Free admission for the duration of the exhibit.

From Butterflies to Blackbirds: The Images of Brian Shul

August 9th – September 23rd, 2011

Opening Reception: August 19th, 5pm – 8pm
The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council is pleased to present an exhibition of nature and aviation photography by Brian Shul. This exhibition is a preview of the new Gallery One opening in Marysville in 2012. The artist will give a slideshow and brief lecture during the opening at 6pm.

Shul is a Vietnam-era USAF fighter pilot and a retired major in the United States Air Force. He flew 212 combat missions and was shot down near the end of the war. He was so badly burned that he was given next to no chance to live. Surviving, he returned to full flight status, flying the SR-71 Blackbird. Major Brian Shul completed a 20 year career in the Air Force. He has written four books on aviation and runs a photo studio in Marysville.

Bok Kai: Dragon Invitational

January 31st – February 25th, 2012

Reception: Friday, February 24th, 6 – 8 p.m.

The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council is pleased to present over twenty local artists in this year’s Bok Kai Art Exhibit. 2012 is the year of the dragon, and all artwork is inspired by Chinese
dragons, the Bok Kai Festival, and/or the Chinese community in Marysville.

Your are invited to the closing reception on Friday, February 24th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council Gallery, 624 E Street, Marysville. This year’s reception features Lily Emmolo, who will perform a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and water dance at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Free admission for the duration of the exhibit.
