Greetings Art Lovers!

Life is exciting at the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council these days!  The office has been transformed into a backstage dressing room for The Marriage of Figaro. The windows are covered with paper for privacy and we are surrounded by costumes, props, wigs, mirrors and the detritus that accompanies a stage production. We are loving every minute of it.

We’re bustling to prepare for the Very Special Arts Festival, which is Friday, May 20th.  We’ll have a fun, lively crowd and you are welcome to join us as a volunteer or as a participant.

The new gallery exhibit, Bits and Blinders, features the paintings of Liz WIlliams and the illustrations of Megan Elaine Luis of life on the ranch and rodeo.  Megan has been experimenting with mat board as canvas and has acheived results that leap from the wall.  The exhibit is framed with pieces of the past – boxes, barbed wire, wagon wheels and cowhide.  Rustic and beautiful.  Don’t miss the artists’ reception on Saturday afternoon, May 22nd.

Hot Knights, our Mystery Dinner Theater with Off the Leash is Friday, May 27th!  I understand Len LaBarth, Chris Parent and Kathleen Stewart are among the cast of this murder mystery set in the 1940′s.  Guaranteed to be delicious and great fun.  Stop in, watch out for petticoats, pick up your tickets for the Mystery Dinner Theater and enjoy the opera!
