We are forever grateful to Joaquina Calvo Johnson for her leadership and generosity to and for the Arts in our community. Joaquina’s vision of high-caliber operas, concerts and recitals in the Yuba-Sutter area was continually realized with her commitment to the Borgamaria Lyric Opera Company, Yuba-Sutter Master Chorale and other local performing arts groups. It’s comforting to know that her legacy lives on in each of her students, singers, audience members and the countless others she touched in our community. She will be sorely missed.
